Senior Civil​/Structural Engineer - Water​/Wastewater

Job Description

Parsons is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to support our Water / Wastewater projects in Southern Florida!

In this role, you'll focus on the design of structures which support Water, Wastewater and Water Resources facilities, making water supplies more resilient and sustainable.

You will design a variety of structural systems, broaden your design experience, and collaborate with other disciplines while delivering critical water infrastructure projects to the community.

• Perform complex structural analysis, calculations, and prepare sketches and drawings for the design of water and wastewater treatment plants, water resource facilities, and other complex structural facilities.
• Extract engineering information from CAD drawings.
• Prepare engineering computations, material quantity takeoffs, estimates, surveys, and designs.
• Complete drawings, specifications, and other materials suitable for procurement and construction. Frequently interface with other Engineering disciplines as well as other departments.
• Prepare detailed requisitions for equipment and materials.
• Review supplier drawing submittals and perform technical bid analyses.
• Prepare and issue specifications, data sheets, and other construction documents.
• Perform construction phase engineering duties such as site visits, responding to RFIs, and reviewing contractor submittals.
• Provide technical guidance to CAD Designer/Drafters, Designers, and lower-level Engineers working on the same project.
• May be required to provide the seal and signature of the professional engineer, as appropriate, ensuring compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, and ordinances.
• May act in an advisory capacity to senior management personnel on engineering related matters.
• Supervise Structural Engineers and work with Structural Technicians in preparation of structural drawings and specifications. Responsible for leading larger production teams and serving as the charge for projects.
• Perform project administrative tasks, including preparation of design fee estimates, monitoring progress against budget and schedule, management of project changes, and implementation of Quality Control requirements.

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (or related field) and typically 10+ years of related work experience. Professional Engineer registration may be required.
• Proficiency with non-structural software packages such as Bluebeam, Project Wise, AutoCAD, and Revit.
• Proficiency with structural analysis software such as RISA 3D, STAADPro, or SAP 2000.
• Familiarity with the latest editions of the International Building Code, ASCE 7, ACI 318, AISC Steel Construction Manual, ACI 53.

• Master of Engineering or Master of Science from an ABET accredited Structural Engineering program and 10+ years of related work experience.
• Previous experience in complex structural design projects.
