Role DescriptionArcadis seeks a Staff Roadway Design Engineer to join our Florida Roadway Team. This position can be in Jacksonville, FL.
This is an exciting opportunity to join our team locally with support from one of the best qualified consulting firms in the country. In this position you will utilize your technical knowledge as part of our local project team, developing innovative solutions throughout the national market. Role Accountabilities- Assist the development and design of infrastructure projects for roadways, including intersections, collector streets, urban arterials, rural and urban expressways, interstates and interstate interchanges.
- May have the opportunity to perform different roles on multi-disciplined projects including planning, technical design of minor projects, production lead, task leader and assisting Project Manager and lead engineers.
- Project development working as an individual or through team efforts to assist in developing project scopes and budgets, interfacing with and maintaining client needs for the Project Manager, mentoring and developing junior staff and design/drafters, developing project plans and maintaining project schedules, and ensuring project compliance with all Arcadis practices including quality and safety standards.
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years’ work experience, including experience on FDOT projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
- EIT.
- Planning and/or engineering experience with infrastructure, which may include environmental document preparation, cost estimates, technical reports, construction plans and project displays.
- Proficiency with CAD, particularly Microstation and Open Roads.
- Familiarity with FDOT design standards and policies.
- Excellent, clear and concise oral and written communication skills; ability to contribute information to meetings, assist with effective client presentations, and prepare written reports and meeting minutes.
- Ability to work on multiple unique assignments simultaneously.
- Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills; self-motivated, team-oriented and flexible with the initiative to tackle new projects, challenges, and concepts.
- Prefer experience in a client-facing role, either as a team or individual, making presentations and managing client expectations.
- Active participation in regional and/or national professional associations.
- Working towards Florida PE.
- Open Roads Designer (3D) experience highly desirable.
