Project Engineering Manager - Water​/Wastewater

Overview

Project Engineering Manager - Water/Wastewater at Black & Veatch. This role involves managing the engineering component of multiple delivery projects (traditional, design-build, design-bid-build, and collaborative) including advanced treatment facilities, underground conveyance, and carbon-neutral solutions.

• Lead a multi-discipline team of engineers and technicians on high-profile municipal projects.
• Supervise and mentor engineering staff, identifying developmental growth opportunities.
• Manage budgets, scheduling, and client/project management communications in support of a project.
• Prepare complex engineering deliverables for large or multiple projects, perform research to develop equipment and material recommendations, and perform complex engineering calculations following standard methods and principles.
• Develop and manage project budgets, schedules, and quality requirements across multiple disciplines.
• Lead production teams, coordinate multiple discipline activities, and serve as the responsible charge for a project.

• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Previous engineering consulting experience.
• Experience executing multi-discipline water treatment plant (WTP) and wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) upgrades and expansions.

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited program (home country or country of practice).
• Minimum of 5 years related work experience.
• Ability to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (e.g., background check, drug screen, motor vehicle records) as applicable by law and regulations.

• Hybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days, at manager discretion based on performance and assignments.
• Standard office and field duties; travel to client sites may be required.
