TEA provides public power utilities with access to advanced resources and technology systems so they can respond competitively in the changing energy markets. Through partnership with TEA, utilities benefit from an experienced organization that is singularly focused on deriving the maximum value of their assets from the market.

Join Our Team as a Real-Time Trader in Jacksonville! Are you ready to dive into the fast-paced world of energy trading on a national scale? As a Real-Time Trader based in Jacksonville, you’ll actively negotiate hourly energy transactions across both the Eastern and Western U.S. markets. You’ll manage a diverse portfolio of power generation assets—including renewable wind energy—on behalf of public power utilities that serve their communities.

In this role, you’ll collaborate with term traders, portfolio managers, RTO specialists, and analysts to execute high-impact trading strategies that maximize value and minimize risk for our clients.

You’ll thrive in a dynamic, 24/7 market environment, where quick thinking, commercial instincts, and financial acumen are key. At TEA, our open trade floor fosters fast communication and collaboration, making it easy to stay ahead of market movements and uncover new opportunities. While the schedule includes rotating 12-hour shifts, it also offers extended time off to recharge and maintain balance.

What You’ll Do
  • Work rotating 12-hour shifts to ensure 24/7/365 trading coverage, including emergency support as needed
  • Analyze and forecast client system needs for energy purchases and sales
  • Optimize power generation and transmission assets to drive profitability and reliability
  • Execute and confirm energy and reserve transactions, ensuring accuracy in all deal capture systems
  • Collaborate with term traders and RTO specialists to develop and deploy trading strategies
  • Monitor real-time system loads, forecasts, and resource availability
  • Stay current on client resource mixes, market rules, tagging practices, and RTO protocols
  • Pursue TEA-backed trading income opportunities and evaluate bilateral market conditions
  • Ensure all trades comply with company and client-specific risk policies
  • Train and support new traders and support specialists in TEA processes and market dynamics
Why You’ll Love Working Here
  • Flexibility and Balance:
The rotating shift schedule includes built-in stretches of time off, giving you space to travel, rest, and pursue your personal passions
  • Team Culture:
Work in a collaborative, fast-paced trade floor environment where quick thinking and teamwork drive results
  • Meaningful Impact:
Play a key role in serving not-for-profit, community-owned utilities that power homes, schools, and hospitals
