Community Health Visiting Professor

Chamberlain University is a 130‑year‑old, regionally accredited institution that offers undergraduate and graduate programs in nursing and health professions. The College of Nursing offers Bachelor of Science (BSN) and advanced nursing degrees in nine specialty areas, including RN‑to‑BSN and RN‑to‑MSN.

Part‑time Clinical Instructor – Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), Community Health Nursing

As a clinical instructor, you will provide both clinical and didactic instruction, supervise nursing students during clinical experiences, and support the College’s mission to educate diverse healthcare professionals. You will work one day per week, typically Saturday or Sunday, with an 8‑week session schedule of 7:00 AM–7:00 PM.

• Implement the College’s philosophy, curriculum, program outcomes, and course objectives through clinical teaching and service to the College, community, health system, and profession.
• Assume responsibility for all autonomous aspects of individual teaching assignments.
• Plan clinical experiences and provide direct supervision and evaluation of nursing students delivering care to individuals or groups.
• Evaluate and provide documented feedback to students on performance based on course objectives.
• Be available for remediation of students as required.
• Oriented and maintain current knowledge related to agency/clinical policies, procedures and expectations.
• Develop and post written clinical assignments consistent with students’ knowledge base and skill competency.
• Grade homework, quizzes, tests, lab assignments, clinical paperwork and other written work in a timely manner.
• May teach didactic course content under supervision of the course coordinator.
• Keep the course coordinator informed of all student and agency issues and concerns.

• Master’s or doctoral degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited college or university.
• Unencumbered professional nursing license.
• At least two years of professional experience in the last five years in the area of instruction as a registered nurse.
• Proof of COVID‑19 vaccination may be required to teach at certain clinical partner sites.
• Teaching or precepting experience is preferred but not required.
• Genuine passion for nursing, education, and lifelong learning.
• Exceptional subject matter expertise with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Eager to serve students and colleagues with passion, respect and care.
• Operate with a sense of responsibility and purpose with the desire to enrich colleagues, students and the broader community.

In support of pay transparency laws, the expected compensation rate for this position is between $1,120 per assignment and $7,245 per assignment, depending on the candidate’s education and experience. Actual pay may be adjusted based on job‑related factors permitted by law, such as type of course taught, experience and training, geographic location, licensure and certifications, market factors, departmental budgets and responsibility.
