Pay : $18–$20 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
Schedule :
Program Assistants are expected to work from 8:30 AM–3:30 PM each day of the cohort.
About the RoleFostering Connections is seeking enthusiastic, compassionate Program Assistants to support students participating in our Career Readiness Academy this summer. This hands‑on program provides job readiness training, skill‑building, and mentorship for youth ages 14–18 who have experienced foster care.
As a Program Assistant, you will play a critical role in supporting small group instruction, fostering a positive learning environment, and encouraging student engagement. This is a rewarding opportunity to help young people build skills and confidence for their future careers.
Key Responsibilities- Support students in small group activities and discussions during class.
- Assist Lead Instructors in implementing curriculum (no lesson planning required; materials provided).
- Help manage classroom logistics and maintain a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment.
- Provide encouragement, mentorship, and guidance to students throughout the program.
- Assist with daily setup, cleanup, and general program support.
- Experience working with youth, preferably in a secondary education, special education, or foster care/child welfare setting.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a passion for helping youth succeed.
- Ability to collaborate with a team and take direction from Lead Instructors and program staff.
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to attending all scheduled program days.
- Degree or certification in Education, Social Work, or a related field. College juniors and seniors are welcome to apply.
- Experience working with youth who have experienced foster care.
- All applicants must successfully complete a Level 2 Background Screening prior to hire.
- Must be available for the full cohort schedule for at least one cohort location (dates and times listed above).
