Overview
Florida A&M University's College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Institute of Public Health is pleased to announce the acceptance of qualified applicants for the Coordinator of Student Affairs vacancy.
Responsibilities- This position serves under the direct supervision of the Director of Pharmacy Practice, Jacksonville Division. Develops, organizes, and delivers program assistance to enhance and support student experiences in the FAMU College of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Jacksonville Instructional Site; responsible for advising and supporting students on a range of student services including student activities and research, financial assistance, and special student needs; serves as the first level of contact for students and preceptors in the Director’s absence;
actively participates in the identification and retention of preceptors and experiential training sites; assists the Director with the collection and analysis of data received from preceptor and experiential training site evaluations by students; maintains accurate and up-to-date records on pertinent data for students, preceptors, and faculty of the division (such as but not limited to students’ rotation sites, experiential activities, grades, hours completed, course syllabi and evaluations);
and establishes and provides relocation information to students moving to Jacksonville and maintains an active updated database of such information annually. - Ensures completion and maintenance of student attestations for sites.
- Coordinates student registrations, course assignments, scheduling and processing of student evaluations and grades.
- Monitors the new CORE Experiential Learning Management platform specifically for their designated practice site; confirms all required rotations are scheduled, makes schedule changes if/when needed, assists preceptors with access and utilization of the platform, and monitors student evaluations.
- Manages and monitors the entire preceptor (site) database contained within the platform.
- Processes introductory Pharmacy Practice Experience (IPPE) students who are assigned to the Jacksonville region, facilitating their onboarding at the sites where they will complete the instructional experience; validates specific sites’ onboarding requirements and any other student data in CORE that might impact the students’ IPPE experiences.
- Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of related experience; or a master’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization.
- Ability to demonstrate excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
- Ability to gather, interpret, report, and/or edit information.
- Knowledge of and ability to interpret and apply related federal, state, and local laws, ordinances, rules and regulations.
- Ability to utilize problem solving skills.
- Ability to strategically plan and serve as a catalyst for organizational change, cultivate a shared vision with others, and motivate others to transfer vision into action.
- Knowledge of the principles and practices of student program planning, development, and evaluation; and
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
This is an Administrative and Professional (A&P) position.
