Physical Education Teacher, High School
Overview
KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools seeks to add capacity to our team with an additional physical education and health teacher. The P.E./Health teacher will instruct classes of 9th–12th grade students and, as the school grows, may teach across multiple grade levels and possibly run a club or enrichment block. The location is Bold City High School at the McDuff campus, 1440 McDuff Avenue North.
We are committed to a quality physical education and health program that complements our rigorous academic program. Teachers create a positive classroom environment, implement the curriculum, assess students, collaborate with their team, build relationships with families, and perform other duties as assigned. Full teacher responsibilities are outlined by the school leader.
ResponsibilitiesInstruct physical education and health to high school students (9th–12th grade) with potential to teach across multiple grade levels as needed.
Work closely with the electives department to integrate curriculum and activities.
Create a positive classroom environment, implement curriculum, assess students, and collaborate with team members.
Build relationships with families and contribute to school activities, clubs, and enrichment blocks where appropriate.
Support school leadership in applying the school model and schedules as the program evolves.
Starting salary for a first-year lead teacher is $50,000

Note:
Salary offers may include stipends and other opportunities to earn additional compensation; specifics are outlined in the offer letter and related documents. The salary offering in the Docu Sign may not include all stipends available in the current year.
Bachelor’s Degree
Relevant Florida Teaching Certification or eligibility for Certification in Physical Education K-12 and Health K-12
At least one complete year of teaching secondary Physical Education with a proven track record of high achievement

Passing a background check as required by law
Background screening is required through the Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse as per Florida law.
HighlyPreferred Qualifications
Two or more years of secondary school physical education experience
Experience with the H.O.P.E. program in Florida
