As a Gifted Teacher, you will develop lesson plans that align with established guidelines and NAGC best practices while fostering effective relationships with students, staff members, and parents.
Your role will involve implementing the CSUSA Educational Model, which emphasizes personalized learning, high academic standards, and a commitment to character development.
- In your instructional role, you will plan and implement a gifted education program that adheres to the company's philosophy and objectives as outlined in the adopted courses of study. This includes creating purposeful lesson plans that utilize effective teaching strategies, aligning with NAGC's best practices, such as using varied instructional strategies to engage diverse learners and promoting critical and creative thinking.
- You will assess student needs and abilities through regular evaluations, maintaining accurate and complete records to inform your instructional practices.
- Your goal will be to maximize educational achievement by employing differentiated instruction techniques that respect and respond to student diversity, as recommended by NAGC.
- You will implement self-contained gifted practices and inclusion strategies that promote engagement and achievement for all learners, ensuring that each student receives appropriate challenges and opportunities for growth.
- Frequent diagnostic assessments will help you evaluate student learning and provide appropriate activities that address their diverse needs.
- Additionally, you will coordinate class field trips and prepare students for state-required achievement assessments. Staying current in your subject matter knowledge and learning theory, as well as in best practices for gifted education, is crucial.
- You will assist in the ongoing revision of the curriculum, including the selection of instructional materials that reflect NAGC standards for gifted education and align with the CSUSA Educational Model.
- You will create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and aligns with the maturity and interests of your gifted students.
- Maintaining a positive rapport with students while demonstrating patience and nurturing will be essential for their growth.
- You will ensure that the classroom is clean, safe, and showcases student-generated work.
- Implementing relevant policies governing student conduct and developing reasonable rules will help maintain order fairly and consistently.
