Candidate Pool Overview

KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools seeks Lead Elementary teachers for Kindergarten‑4th grade classrooms in the 2026‑2027 school year. Selected candidates may be invited to interview when openings arise.

Position Responsibilities
  • Create a positive classroom environment.
  • Implement curriculum and assess student learning.
  • Collaborate with instructional teams and build relationships with families.
  • Complete additional duties as assigned by the principal.
Current Classroom Model
  • Kindergarten‑2nd Grade – Some lead teachers co‑teach with a certified novice teacher; class size ≈ 26 students.
  • 3rd‑4th Grade – Departmentalized lead teachers responsible for a single subject; class size ≈ 26 students.
Compensation and Benefits
  • Starting salary for a first‑year lead teacher: $50,000.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Relevant Florida teaching certification or eligibility for K‑6 or PK‑3 elementary.
  • At least one complete year of teaching experience with a proven track‑record of high achievement.
  • Background check, as required by law.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Florida Reading endorsement or reading competency coursework in progress.
  • ESOL endorsement or competency coursework in progress.
  • Two or more years of teaching experience in a relevant grade level with a proven track‑record of high achievement.
