KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools

KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools is part of the KIPP national network. In the 2026‑2027 school year, the KIPP Jacksonville region will comprise four schools educating 3,000+ students, kindergarten through twelfth grade, in the North and West sides of Jacksonville, Florida:

  • KIPP Impact Academy:
    Kindergarten – 8th grade
  • KIPP VOICE Academy:
    Kindergarten – 8th grade
  • KIPP Bessie Coleman Academy:
    Kindergarten – 8th grade
  • KIPP Bold City High School: 9th – 12th grade

For the current school year, teachers at KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools work the following hours Monday through Friday and may have occasional meetings or special school events outside of these hours. Hours for teachers and students may vary slightly by school.

  • K-8 Staff: 7:30 am – 4:30 pm; K-8 Students: 8:00 am – 3:30 pm;
    Wednesday, K-8 dismissal is at 1:30 pm.
  • High School Staff: 6:45 am – 3:45 pm;
    High School Students: 7:15 am – 2:30 pm;
    Wednesday, high school dismissal is at 12:30 pm.

Every Wednesday is a student early release day, which allows teachers to participate in weekly professional development and content team meetings. (This doesn’t include Wellness Wednesdays when all staff leave at student dismissal.)

Job Description POSITION OVERVIEW

KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools seeks high school teachers for our 9th‑12th grade classrooms in the 2026‑2027 school year. We are building a candidate pool for Lead High School teachers anticipated for the 2026‑2027 school year across our network. While this is not a guarantee of placement, selected candidates in the pool may be invited to interview when openings arise.

Teachers will be responsible for at least one subject area and for creating a positive classroom environment, implementing curriculum, assessing students, collaborating with their team, building relationships with families, and other duties as assigned. Full teacher responsibilities are ultimately outlined by their school leader.

KIPP Bold City's vision is to be a high school built on student voice and choice. Bold City offers a variety of options for its students—including honors classes, Advanced Placement classes for all, and career/technical education. Classes are chosen based on student and family interest. As the school grows, we seek to add more career tracks as well as Dual Enrollment.
