ECE Teachers Assistant

Minimum of CDA or currently seeking a CDA. Experience in the field is desired.

Ability to speak grammatically correct language that is clear and understandable to the listener and to comprehensively understand language when spoken at a normal speed.

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to read, write, and comprehend the concept of time.

Ability to use good judgment, e.g., when to call about a sick child, when to set limits, and how to handle potentially risky situations.

Must be able to follow directions; relay information to others; read and comprehend memos, notes, and in-service materials; write using proper English and sentence structure; and successfully complete CPR, first aid, and other in-service requirements as needed.

Must be physically fit to move, carry, stand, lift, push, or pull children up to 50 pounds if necessary. Must be able to bend, squat, and work with children at all heights. Regularly required to use hands to handle objects, reach with hands and arms, and see, talk, and hear. Occasionally required to run. These physical demands are for up to 8 hours per day.

The work is conducted on a one-level floor with no steps, air-conditioned, and on the bus route. Must tolerate heat during outdoor playground activities. Noise level is usually noisy.
