. We are a leading general contractor in commercial markets and are looking for talented individuals to help build high-quality projects while maintaining the highest health and safety standards.
- Ensure accidents are properly documented and investigate causes, recommending remedial actions.
- Plan, organize, schedule, and conduct continuous inspections of projects, work areas, and equipment; perform daily site audits with a co‑worker.
- Communicate frequently with the Regional Safety Manager to report on the status of the occupational health and safety program.
- Work with subcontractors, vendors, and third‑party personnel to ensure adherence to safety policies and procedures.
- Act as site and/or corporate contact for any federal, state, or municipal safety or risk management authority when the Regional Safety Manager is unavailable.
- Review daily safety and quality issues with the site superintendent and coordinate emergency procedures and first aid crews.
- Follow up with subcontractor representatives to ensure proper disciplinary procedures are followed and that subcontractors are held accountable to submitted safety and quality programs.
- Attend and participate in daily KPI, weekly subcontractor, and monthly project/safety manager meetings and all pre‑start/pre‑install activities with subcontractors.
- Order safety materials and supplies; maintain a positive work atmosphere by effective communication with customers, clients, coworkers, and management.
- Operate, maintain, certify, inspect, calibrate, and oversee the installation of company safety equipment; install bulletin boards and post warning signs for site hazards.
- Monitors site conditions for compliance with environmental, health, safety, and quality requirements; review and update monthly all site‑specific safety plans with the project teams.
- Assist in the elaboration of Safety Training Agreements (STA) and attend one STA with subcontractors daily.
- Record data and compile reports for statistical analyses; maintain and update quality and safety logs.
- Prior to subcontractor mobilization, review all applicable documentation (e.g., Job Hazard Analysis, Pre‑Mobilization documents) to ensure safety execution.
- Train corporate and site‑based personnel on safety programs, policies, and procedures; provide documentation of training to Human Resources in a timely manner.
- Assist the Regional Safety Manager in ensuring compliance with the corporate workers' compensation program and project contractor‑controlled insurance program.
- Maintain relationships with customers, suppliers, and employees to ensure needs are met and conflicts are resolved.
- Communicate and reinforce the company vision, mission, and values.
- Associate's degree in Occupational Health & Safety and/or Environmental field.
- Minimum of 2‑5 years of significant construction safety experience.
- Professional certification preferred; experience, training, and/or certification may be used as a substitute for a degree.
