Overview
The Clinic Projects Coordinator assists with various office and/or clinical projects for the Department. The primary role is to process incoming and outgoing referrals for the Jacksonville Health and Transition Service Program (JaxHATS), and additional administrative projects as assigned by the Medical Director, faculty, or manager using independent judgment and initiative. The employee will be a liaison between UFJHI Departments and UF Health.
Responsibilities- Receive and distribute any patient testing, labs, scans and X-rays to the medical provider.
- Use intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills to create and format spreadsheets and workbooks. Establish Excel database for assigned grant project(s).
- Calls the patients at home to check on their status and to address any questions, worries or concerns.
- Answers, screens and directs incoming calls.
- Assist patients with directions and instructions as needed.
- Document outpatient records accurately and efficiently.
- Assist with special projects or events as directed by management.
- Communicates routinely with physicians, administrators and other employees/departments via telephone and e‑mail as necessary.
- Support patients in navigating the clinic system and community resources.
- Verifies insurance coverage, obtains authorization, submits clinical information as required and communicates with patient, vendors, surgeon and hospital abreast of the surgical plan.
- 2 years clerical/customer service (preferably in a medical facility) – Required
- 2 years computer/database experience (Microsoft Office products – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook) – Required
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent – Required
- Associate’s – Preferred
