The Coordinator Budgets, under the direction of an Assistant Director or above, assists in the design, development and implementation of departmental processes and/or programs. Recommends policies and procedures to ensure effective coordination of departmental programs.
Job Function- Manage a variety of state-funded, fee-funded, and tuition-funded auxiliary budgets for the unit and for online programs.
- Ensure that budgetary obligations are met, perform budget forecasting, ensure compliance with state and university policies and procedures, and oversee implementation of the budget in day-to-day operations.
- Compile annual budget requests, manage annual budget development, and provide periodic budget reports and analyses.
- Coordinate administrative functions of the Office of Digital Learning and Innovation and the Center for Instruction and Research Technology by planning, initiating, and completing a variety of administrative activities and projects.
- Maintain records and files regarding administrative activities of the unit.
- Supervise support staff.
- Provide back-up on financial transactions and budgetary obligations in the absence of the Office Assistant.
- Assist with general office duties in the absence of the Office Assistant, including maintaining departmental records, organizing files, errands, copying, greeting visitors, and answering phones.
- Research and compile background data related to distance education and academic technology.
- During declared campus emergencies, perform specific job-related duties at a designated off-campus location or place of residence.

General supervision. The incumbent develops procedures for performing a variety of complex duties within established guidelines; has considerable freedom while work is in process and receives instructions on new assignments.
Level Of Public ContactThis position has daily contract internally with university and departmental administrators and externally with vendors and other entities as required.
Monetary ResponsibilityThis position assists with the proper financial reporting and processing of funds in excess of $9 million dollars annually.
Policy making And/or InterpretationFollows established policies relating to fiscal management and administration. Makes recommendations on fiscal policies and procedures for the unit. Monitors budgetary activity to ensure compliance on all fiscal policies. Interprets policy and makes recommendations on personnel procedures. Assists in the preparation and administration of contracts.
Program Direction And DevelopmentThis position advises the Asst. VP on University budgetary policies to ensure compliance. In addition, this position plays a major role in budget development for EG, Aux, and Foundation budgets under Digital Learning.
Statement Of Responsibility For Confidential DataThe person in this position is responsible for maintaining confidentiality of personnel information. Also has access to reports that include student enrollment data.
Required QualificationsMaster's or Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219.
