Title: Secretary Specialist
Pay Plan: Career Service
Salary: $1,390.99 biweekly

- Process cases, files, court paperwork and mail as they come into the unit, including updating the Juvenile Justice Information System (JJIS) per JPOS.
- Process cases from State Attorney's Office filing decisions, closing or forwarding to supervision units.
- Provide receptionist duties: filing, copying, answering phones, relaying messages and assisting clients.
- Maintain unit supplies, inventory closed files, and prepare files for ACCESS.
- Transport inter‑office mail between Duval JAC and Duval Probation Offices.
- Attend and complete required training, including yearly and mandatory departmental training.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Knowledge of business formats and office procedures.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Ability to make and receive phone calls.
- Ability to greet and assist the public professionally.
- Ability to organize and maintain files/records.
- Ability to coordinate with other staff.
- Ability to complete work in a timely manner.
- Ability to use computers and computer programs.
- Ability to gain knowledge of My Florida Market Place.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license; required for delivering mail and operating state vehicles.
- Sex offender check, criminal background checks (state, local, national) and pre‑employment drug screening for direct care positions.
- Participation in E‑Verify.
- Driver’s license must be a Florida state license within 30 days if hired with an out‑of‑state license.
- For positions involving transportation of youth, a valid driver’s license and a three‑year acceptable driving record required.
- Must be at least 19 years old and a high school graduate or equivalent.
- No felony convictions or applicable misdemeanors involving perjury/false statements.
- Compliance with fingerprinting, background investigations and affidavit‑of‑application requirements.
