Sr. Cost Accountant

Position Summary

Vaco is seeking a detail‑oriented Cost Accountant to support financial analysis and reporting activities that guide operational and strategic decision‑making. This role focuses on evaluating cost data, maintaining accurate financial records, and delivering insights that help improve efficiency and profitability. The ideal candidate has strong analytical abilities, a thorough understanding of cost accounting principles and inventory control, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.

• Analyze financial information to produce detailed reports on product costs, variances, and overall profitability.
• Track and assess inventory levels while investigating and resolving discrepancies.
• Develop, implement, and maintain standard costing processes for products and services.
• Partner with cross‑functional teams to identify opportunities and strengthen cost control practices.
• Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, budgets, and forecasts.
• Perform periodic audits to ensure adherence to accounting standards and internal procedures.
• Identify opportunities for cost reduction and recommend process improvements.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• At least two years of experience in cost accounting.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment is REQUIRED.
• Proficiency with cost accounting systems and advanced spreadsheet tools.
• Solid understanding of GAAP and core financial accounting concepts.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage deadlines and work independently.
• Exceptional attention to detail.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
