The Role
The Royalties & Revenue Accounting Intern will support the accounting team responsible for revenue recognition, royalty calculations, and related financial reporting activities. This role provides hands‑on exposure to general ledger processes, revenue analysis, and cross-functional collaboration, while building a strong foundation in accounting principles within a dynamic business environment.
Responsibilities- Assist with preparing and recording general ledger journal entries under supervision.
- Support monthly balance sheet account reconciliations by gathering data and organizing supporting documentation.
- Help analyze revenue and royalty activity and assist in identifying variances.
- Compile financial data to support period-over-period comparisons and reporting.
- Assist with generating client invoices and supporting accounts receivable processes related to revenue and royalties.
- Help initiate payment requests and track invoice status as needed.
- Support internal teams by responding to routine financial information requests.
- Assist with audit preparation by organizing documentation and responding to basic information requests.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure documentation is complete, organized in accordance with internal controls.
- Participate in ad‑hoc projects and process improvement initiatives within the accounting team.
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Strong academic performance preferred.
- Foundational understanding of basic accounting principles and financial statements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (basic formulas, data organization); exposure to accounting or ERP systems is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to work with financial data and identify discrepancies.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a structured, team‑oriented environment.
- High level of professionalism, integrity, and willingness to learn.
