Sr. Cost Accountant - Onsite Jacksonville, Fl

Position Summary

Vaco is seeking a detail-oriented Cost Accountant to support financial analysis and reporting activities that guide operational and strategic decision-making. This role focuses on evaluating cost data, maintaining accurate financial records, and delivering insights that help improve efficiency and profitability. The ideal candidate has strong analytical abilities, a thorough understanding of cost accounting principles and inventory control, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.

• Analyze financial information to produce detailed reports on product costs, variances, and overall profitability
• Track and assess inventory levels while investigating and resolving discrepancies
• Develop, implement, and maintain standard costing processes for products and services
• Partner with cross‑functional teams to identify opportunities and strengthen cost control practices
• Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, budgets, and forecasts
• Perform periodic audits to ensure adherence to accounting standards and internal procedures
• Identify opportunities for cost reduction and recommend process improvements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• At least two years of experience in cost accounting
• Experience in a manufacturing environment is REQUIRED
• Proficiency with cost accounting systems and advanced spreadsheet tools
• Solid understanding of GAAP and core financial accounting concepts
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational skills
• Ability to manage deadlines and work independently
• Exceptional attention to detail
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
