Schedule: 25 hours per week (approximately 5 hours per day)
Work Arrangement: Hybrid (partial onsite / partial remote)
Position Summary
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Part-Time Accounting Clerk to support day-to-day financial operations. This temporary role focuses heavily on accounts payable and accounts receivable data entry, along with general bookkeeping and administrative support. The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, experience handling financial transactions, and the ability to work independently while meeting deadlines.
Essential Responsibilities
Bookkeeping & Financial Recordkeeping
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in accordance with internal policies and accounting standards.
- Record daily financial transactions, including journal entries, in accounting software.
- Assist with monthly account reconciliations and basic financial reporting.
- Perform AP and AR data entry with accuracy and timeliness.
- Process invoices for payment, ensuring proper coding and documentation.
- Prepare and send invoices to vendors, funders, or third parties as needed.
- Monitor outstanding receivables and follow up as required.
- File, scan, and organize accounting and financial documents (digital and paper).
- Maintain well-organized financial records to support audits and reporting needs.
- Respond to accounting-related emails and phone inquiries professionally.
- Assist with internal and external audits by preparing requested documentation.
- Provide general support to the accounting team and assist with special projects as assigned.
- Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred.
- 2-3 years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or AP/AR data entry.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with accounting software is a plus.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
- Strong communication and time-management skills.
