Billing Specialist (Jacksonville, FL) Temp to Hire

We’re building a short list of Billing professionals in Jacksonville for an upcoming need outside of healthcare (think: manufacturing, distribution, logistics, construction, services, SaaS, utilities, or other commercial environments). If you enjoy owning the invoice process, keeping customers informed, and partnering cross-functionally to resolve billing issues—this is worth a conversation.

• Prepare, review, and send customer invoices on a daily/weekly billing cycle
• Validate billing accuracy (rates, terms, customer contracts, PO’s, supporting documentation)
• Partner with Sales, Customer Service, Operations, and/or Project Teams to resolve billing questions and discrepancies
• Process billing adjustments including credit/debit memos, rebills, and invoice corrections
• Maintain customer master data: billing contacts, invoicing preferences, tax documentation (as applicable), and required backup
• Support month‑end close related to billing (reconciliations, reporting, audit support)
• Track invoice status and ensure required info is gathered to keep billing on schedule

• 2+ years of billing experience in a non-healthcare environment (B2B preferred)
• Comfort in a fast‑paced, high‑volume setting with tight deadlines
• Strong Excel skills (filters, lookup formulas, pivot tables a plus)
• Experience with an ERP/billing platform (SAP, Oracle, Net Suite, Dynamics, Workday, etc.)
• Clear communication—able to professionally follow up, elevate when needed, and keep billing moving

• Contract/project billing, progress billing, or milestone billing experience
• Experience with shipping/inventory or order‑to‑cash workflows (order entry → invoice → payment)
• Exposure to sales tax, exemptions, or multi‑state billing requirements
• Experience in manufacturing/distribution/logistics or service‑based billing environments
• Monday‑Friday 8 AM-5 PM
