Director, Corporate Accounting

Director of Corporate Accounting (Upcoming Opportunity)

We’re proactively building a short list of proven Corporate Accounting leaders in Jacksonville for an upcoming Director-level need. This role will own core accounting operations, strengthen close and controls, and partner closely with Finance leadership on reporting, technical accounting, and process improvement.

• Lead corporate accounting functions including monthly/quarterly/year-end close, consolidations support, and financial statement preparation
• Manage and develop a team (senior accountants/accountants), setting clear expectations and driving performance
• Oversee balance sheet governance: reconciliations, flux analysis, account ownership, and issue resolution
• Partner with FP&A, Treasury, Tax, and Operational Finance to ensure accurate reporting and timely deliverables
• Drive internal controls and audit readiness; serve as key contact for external auditors
• Support technical accounting and policy development (new standards, complex transactions, memos, documentation)
• Improve processes through standardization, automation, and stronger close discipline (including ERP optimization)
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies

• 8–12+ years of progressive accounting experience, with leadership/people management experience
• Strong corporate accounting foundation (close ownership, financial reporting, balance sheet control)
• Public accounting background (Big 4 or national firm) is a plus, not required
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and improve processes
• Strong Excel skills and comfort working in ERP environments (SAP, Oracle, Net Suite, Dynamics, Workday, etc.)
• Clear communicator who can operate confidently with executives and auditors

• Consolidations and multi-entity experience
• M&A integration, carve-outs, or large-scale process transformation
• Experience implementing or optimizing ERP/close tools (Black Line, Trintech, etc.)

• High-visibility leadership seat with meaningful influence on close, controls, and reporting quality
