Sr. Accountant

Description We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Jacksonville, Florida. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing key accounting processes and ensuring financial accuracy and compliance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting practices and a keen eye for detail.

Responsibilities:

- Manage and execute month-end close procedures to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.

- Maintain and analyze the general ledger, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with accounting standards.

- Prepare and post journal entries, verifying accuracy and completeness.

- Perform account reconciliations to identify discrepancies and resolve issues.

- Conduct bank reconciliations to ensure alignment between internal records and external statements.

- Collaborate with team members to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency.

- Generate financial reports and provide insights to support decision-making.

- Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and company policies in all accounting activities.

- Assist with audits by preparing necessary documentation and responding to inquiries.

- Monitor and address variances in accounts to maintain financial integrity. Requirements - Proven experience in month-end close procedures and financial reporting.

- Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting and related processes.

- Proficiency in preparing and posting journal entries with accuracy.

- Expertise in account reconciliation and resolving discrepancies.

- Familiarity with bank reconciliation practices and tools.

- Ability to analyze financial data and generate meaningful reports.

- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to maintaining compliance.

- Effective communication and collaboration skills for working within a team environment.
