Overview
Senior Corporate Accountant at CSX partners to ensure a timely and accurate month-end close. Works with internal and external business partners to support the accounting needs of all subsidiaries under the CSX Corporate umbrella.
Primary Activities And Responsibilities- Prepare and upload monthly journal entries (intermediate to complex)
- Maintain, update, and serve as administrator of One Stream (corporate consolidation tool)
- Load, consolidate, and review financial data
- Complete assigned balance sheet account reconciliations and investigate variances
- Create weekly and quarterly reports and perform flux analyses for management review
- Research and document accounting conclusions for complex or non-routine transactions
- Evaluate system and business-driven changes to determine needed changes to accounting processes and controls
- Serve as a point of contact for assigned accounting areas and provide guidance to business partners
- Participate in special projects and cross-functional activities, as assigned
- Pursue opportunities for process improvement
- Provide information to internal and external auditors as required
- Miscellaneous activities and responsibilities as assigned by manager
- Bachelor's Degree/4-year Degree from an accredited institution required in Accounting, Finance, or Business
- 3 or more years of experience in Accounting
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
- Graduate Degree
- Public Accounting experience
- SAP experience
- Knowledge of accounting principles and practices
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet tight deadlines
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Understanding of corporate consolidation concepts and SEC reporting requirements
- Knowledge of Oracle or SAP GL & subledger systems
- Knowledge of One Stream consolidation tool
- Knowledge of SOX regulatory standards
- Microsoft Office skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization
