Vaco has an immediate need for a Payroll Accountant in Jacksonville, Florida. This is an estimated 2-3 month contract with a hybrid work environment and candidates must be based within Jax, FL or within commutable distance to the office.

Seeking a detail-oriented Temporary Payroll Accountant to support our U.S. Payroll team with the investigation, analysis, and reconciliation of US payroll. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in payroll accounting, excellent analytical skills, and a solid understanding of U.S. payroll practices and compliance.



Key Responsibilities :

* Analyze and reconcile over payment cases within U.S. Payroll records.

* Investigate root causes, validate over payment amounts, and document findings.

* Reconcile repayment schedules and documentation in compliance with company policies and federal/state regulations.

* Assist in communications with affected employees as needed.

* Work with Payroll Accounting to validate adjustments of payroll records and general ledger entries to reflect reconciliations.

* Ensure proper audit trail and documentation for internal and external review.

* Support any required reporting related to over payments or adjustments.

* Reconcile debits and credits though ADP Smart Compliance reports against banking transactions.

Requirements:
* Proven experience in payroll accounting, preferably with U.S. multistate payroll.

* Strong understanding of wage and hour laws, tax with holdings, and over payment recovery protocols.

* Experience with payroll software (e.g., ADP Smart Compliance and Oracle Fusion Oracle).

* Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with reconciliation procedures.

* Excellent attention to detail, confidentiality, and organizational skills.

* Strong written and verbal communication skills.

* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
