Overview
Performs CT scanning examinations and contributes to the efficient operation of the department, promoting the philosophy of delivering high-quality, continuous patient care. This role is classified as a safety sensitive position in which impaired performance could affect the health and safety of self or others.
Responsibilities- Perform CT scanning examinations and support department operations to ensure quality and continuity of patient care.
- Education: Must be a graduate of an accredited radiologic technology program.
- Training and
Experience:
Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists as a Radiology Technologist and/or CT Technologist. Prior experience is preferred; extensive on-the-job training provided. - Job Knowledge: Ability to operate CT equipment; manage patients during radiology procedures; knowledge of exams using contrast agents; familiarity with radiographic equipment and radiation safety. Flexibility to work overtime as needed and to take on-call duties and disaster work as required by workload and unforeseen circumstances. Must understand age-related developmental issues from Neonate to Geriatric and follow oral and written instructions;
communicate with patients, visitors, and employees within the organization. - Safety Sensitive: YES
Schedule: Friday 6P-6A and Saturdays 10P-Sunday 6A. 20 hours a week.
Physical Effort: Stand for long periods; assist, push, pull, and lift patients; regularly lift objects heavier than 50 lb.; perform routine, repetitive tasks with or without supervision; work within a radiation area and may be exposed to blood, body fluids/tissues, and ionizing radiation.
Mental Effort: Concentrate on fine detail with potential interruptions; manage multiple tasks over long periods; communicate effectively with patients, families, and staff; maintain confidentiality.
