POSITION
DESCRIPTION:
The Career Technical Education (CTE) Teacher shall provide instruction and skill training to high school students in business, finance, investing, accounting, marketing, and (or) entrepreneurship as set forth in the course curriculum. The CTE Teacher is responsible for carrying out the assigned program that includes content standards as well as career awareness. The teacher instructs high school students in the technical or occupational skills of the professional trade and prepares students to manage financial resources effectively, make sound financial decisions, and provide the tools necessary to become financially literate.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

* Bilingual Spanish skills preferred.
* Plans, develops, and utilizes a variety of instructional materials appropriate to support the learning of students from varied socio-economic and cultural backgrounds.
* Is dedicated to implementing teaching practices that focus on student engagement and student growth.
* Individualizes and adapts educational processes and procedures to enhance the students' learning.
* Provides whole group, small group, and individual instruction to students, and effectively utilizes the time available for instructional activities.
* Maintains appropriate standards of student behavior, using behavioral management strategies and techniques, including positive reinforcement.
* Embeds social emotional learning opportunities for students.
* Proficient in instructional technology and has experience with a Learning Management System (LMS).
* Designs and implements relevant curriculum, provides pathway courses for CTE pathway completion, incorporates appropriate industry recognized certifications and training and works toward achieving the high quality elements of Career Technical Education.
* Provides instruction that is appropriately paced and directed to specific occupational skills while accounting for individual differences in ability, motivation and learning rates.
* Guides students in making career-related decisions and instructs students in appropriate job-seeking and retention skills.

PROFESSIONAL
QUALIFICATIONS:
* Bachelors or Masters degree in Education, Business, Finance or related field.
* Wyoming State Certification. Applicants must have or be able to obtain a Teaching Certificate issued by the Wyoming Professional Teaching Standards Board ()with a secondary endorsement in business or related field, or
* Have three years minimum of direct work experience in fields of marketing, finance, business, or entrepreneurship and be able to obtain a PIC (Professional, Industry, Career) Permit from PTSB() in one or more of the following areas:
Marketing, Finance, Business.
The School District places employees on salary schedules on the basis of:
* Wyoming experience.
* Out-of-state experience up to 7 years.
* Degree Bachelor's, Masters, or Doctorate.
* Semester Graduate Credits beyond Degree.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand and talk or hear and sometimes walk and sit on the floor depending on the age of the children.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally push or lift up to 50 lbs. 0 - 12 feet and on occasion up to 20 feet, such as boxes of books and AV/VCR carts. Occasionally the employee will bend or twist at the neck more than the average person, may need to lift arms to write on chalk or marking board and occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch and reach 0 - 24 inches and up to 36 inches above the head.
The employee is directly responsible for the safety, well-being and work output of other people. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision such as to read handwritten or typed material,the ability to adjust focus, and exposure to screen(s) via technology. Hearing ability to monitor activity and presence of students and respond to communication with students and adults is required.
The position requires the individual to meet multiple demands from several people and interact with the public and other staff.
