POSITION DESCRIPTIONWorks with school staff K-12 to support the social/emotional well‑being of students on individualized education plans, at‑risk students, as well as to work with the school, community, and agency personnel to address student, family and community concerns. Additionally, this position will work closely with school psychologists to support students and families.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS- Consultation/collaboration with school teams (Individualized Education teams, MTSS, BIT, SST, teacher/parent staffing).
- Document interventions and provide data into a concise, organized, and educationally relevant evaluative report.
- Coordinate with problem solving school based and community teams to include local preschools.
- Assist team in gathering and evaluating objective data, conducting observations and identifying appropriate services and community resources.
- Collaborate with students, parents, and school personnel to develop and implement prevention, intervention and individualized IEP goals and services as appropriate.
- Conduct specialized individual and group counseling sessions for students on individualized education plans.
- Model and educate school personnel and parents in the use of positive behavioral supports and in the appropriate implementation of academic and behavioral intervention plans.
- Represent TCSD Department of Special Education as a community liaison; attend community partnership meetings.
- Conduct in‑service programs for parents and school personnel.
- Provide assistance with a wide range of human needs accessing community resources.
- Provide career and guidance counseling in addition to general counseling.
- Provide certain diagnostic testing.
- Other duties to be determined and as assigned.
- Master's, specialist, or doctorate degree in Social Work or Counseling.
- Hold or eligible to hold a Wyoming Mental Health Professions License in your field of specialization; and/or a certificate issued by the Wyoming Professional Teaching Standards Board () with an endorsement in either K-12 School Social Worker or School Counselor.
- Evidence of excellent communication, problem solving, and collaborative decision‑making skills.
- Experience providing individual and group therapy (preferred experience in CBT, DBT and Solution Focus/Brief Therapies)
The School District places employees on salary schedules on the basis of:
Wyoming experience.
Out‑of‑state experience up to 7 years.
Degree – Bachelor's, Masters, or Doctorate.
Semester Graduate Credits beyond Degree.
