193 DAY CONTRACT

School Year, approximately 8/19/26-6/18/27

POSITION

DESCRIPTION:

Works with school staff to support the social / emotional well-being of students. This may include individual and small group counseling, developing academic and social emotional plans for students, assisting with the school's crisis intervention, peer facilitation, and coordinating and communicating services with teachers, families, and community service providers.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

* Individual and small group counseling.

* Individual/family/school crisis intervention.

* Peer facilitation,

* Lead faculty teams.

* Develop with the student academic plans.

* Work in partnership with community agencies.

* Collaboration with students, teachers, parents, administration.

* Maintain communication systems that effectively collect and disseminate information to other professionals as appropriate.

* Develop and maintain positive working relationships with other school professionals and community representatives.

* Work with school and community personnel to bring together resources for students.

* Plan and implement a balanced, school guidance and counseling program to ensure they meet identified needs, priorities, and program objectives.

* Educate school staff, students, parents and community about guidance and counseling programs/services.

* Compile, maintain and file all reports, records and other required documents.

* Attend and participate in faculty meetings and serve on committees and teams.

* Ability to demonstrate the following core values: integrity, high expectations, commitment, respect, dedication to teamwork and passion for a student centered environment.

* Daily attendance and punctuality at work are essential for the job.

* Create an atmosphere of trust and respect for the school, students, faculty, families, and partners.

* Is receptive to others' perspectives, welcomes differences in interpretation and judgment, and is able to revise and expand own views.

* Participate in ongoing, timely and professional communication (both proactive and responsive) with students, families, colleagues and community partners.

* Keep informed of and comply with state, district, and federal program policies and procedures for the classroom.

* Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

KNOWLEDGE AND

SKILLS:

* Strong background in working with middle school age students and families.

* Understanding and support of multiculturalism and diversity.

* Education in understanding self and others; coping skills; peer relationships and effective social skills; communication, problem solving, decision-making, conflict resolution.

* Experience providing individual and group counseling using evidence-based approaches, including CBT, DBT, and Solution-Focused/Brief Therapy.

* Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and community service providers.

* Strong organizational skills.

* Ability to be flexible and adaptable based on needs.

* Evidence of excellent communication, problem solving, and collaborative decision-making skills.

EDUCATION, LICENSE, CERTIFICATION OR FORMAL TRAINING:

* Master's, specialist, or doctorate degree in School Counseling/Counseling.

* Hold or eligible to hold a Wyoming Mental Health Professions License in field of specialization; and/or a certificate issued by the Wyoming Professional Teaching Standards Board () with an endorsement as a K-12 School Counselor.

The School District places employees on salary schedules on the basis of:

* Wyoming experience.

* Out-of-state experience up to 7 years.

* Degree Bachelor's, Masters, or Doctorate.

* Semester Graduate Credits beyond Degree.

Salary pending approval of the 26/27 Compensation Package; 25/26 package can be found here.
