Huck’s Market Store Manager

Every store manager is responsible for the proper and efficient operation of the store within company policy and local laws to ensure profitability while maintaining the highest level of customer service.

• Customer Service: give customers prompt and courteous service, maintain store appearance, ensure the store is open and ready for business, and handle customer conflicts using the MAKE IT RIGHT process.
• Profitability: utilize all tools and departments to ensure all programs and policies are executed, manage expenses and sales to budget, perform neighborhood marketing, and participate in suggestive selling contests.
• General Management: commit to the company’s vision/mission, recruit talent, schedule associates, communicate with store associates, Division Manager and corporate office, follow all laws, serve as a role model, control variable expenses, and perform daily checklists.
• Accounting: complete paperwork accurately and timely, maintain inventory and cash loss within guidelines, conduct audits, ensure daily bank deposits, provide sufficient change, and send required documents to store analysts.
• Human Resources: treat associates with dignity and respect, ensure breaks, advise on personnel issues, commit to training, enforce no work‑off‑the‑clock policy, provide a harassment‑free environment, comply with Responsible Retailing policy, support ongoing training and development, record hours worked.
• Security: follow cash handling procedures, maintain surveillance equipment, ensure safe shopping and working environment, protect company assets, and enforce vendor check‑in procedures.
• Merchandising: display promotional signs, use plan‑ograms, communicate with District Manager, manage product orders to prevent out‑of‑stocks, work with DSD vendors, monitor inventory, and maintain food service area cleanliness.
• Maintenance: keep floors clean, report maintenance problems, and ensure equipment is operational.
• Safety: use ladders and lifting procedures correctly, place wet‑floor signs, report accidents, and comply with EPA regulations.
