Overview

Order Picker position on the 1st shift at MAT Industries Inc. in Jackson, TN. Starting pay: $18.50/hour
. 1st shift:
Monday – Friday, 6:00 am – 2:30 pm, with opportunities for overtime.

Picks and packs customer orders.

• Operate RF scanners to read barcodes, process merchandise, and palletize
• Read pick tickets and match alphanumeric SKUs with descriptions
• Prepare orders by processing requests, pulling materials, packing, palletizing, and placing orders in the delivery area
• Manually load/unload, sort, and stage product throughout the warehouse
• Operate a manual pallet jack or battery-powered pallet-jack
• Use computer to look up items, print tickets or shipping labels
• Complete all paperwork accurately
• Maintain an organized, clean, and safe work environment; report safety hazards
• Work cooperatively with others and follow all Company and OSHA safety guidelines
• Maintain attendance according to company policies
• Perform other duties as assigned

• Prior RF scanner experience for order picking
• Ability to prioritize, adapt to changing work environment
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Fast learner and self-starter
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to understand written and/or oral instructions
• Ability to concentrate for long periods and remain flexible to change
• Willing to work overtime as needed
• Physically capable of lifting, pushing/pulling up to 70 pounds; stand on concrete for extended periods
• Willing to work extended hours during peak periods

• High school diploma or GED
• 6 months or more related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
