DescriptionSummary: The Manufacturing & Assembly Associate (Assembly Trainee) is responsible for the operation of deburring machinery and material handling. Must meet Bobrick standards of safety, product quality, productivity, and policies. The individual needs to constantly upgrade their job skills to keep pace with changing technology.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Understands the Four Level Defect Grading System and continually seeks out, reports, and contributes to problem-solving to correct or prevent quality defects and errors.
- Follows verbal instructions to ascertain equipment and set up as required.
- Selects and sets up air-operated hand tools and fixtures on the workbench.
- Checks incoming and outgoing materials for quality and quantity. Prepares necessary documentation as required and reports to the department lead.
- Performs a moderate amount of fitting, aligning, and polishing to a diversified line of sheet metal fabricated components, cabinets, etc.
- Stacks completed product on skids and moves to storage.
- Monitors and verifies that the quality and quantity of work performed meet Bobrick standards.
- Maintains the production process in a capable and aligned state and works to continuously improve.
- Participates in and recommends new and improved work methods for work performed.
- Maintain a healthy and safe environment by keeping the work area clean, materials positioned correctly, and following safe operating procedures at all times.
- Participates in and supports projects, charter teams, and events to meet the stated goals and budget.
- Performs daily pre-use inspection checklist on equipment.
- Assists with material handling operations.
- Performs part deburring utilizing automated equipment.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and must learn the basic principles of self-balancing flow manufacturing. - High school diploma or GED and one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Stainless steel assembly experience is a plus.
- Must be able to organize own work and determine sequences of operations.
- Must be able to read a tape measure.
