This is a full-time on-site position located in Jackson, TN. The Mobility Device Technician will be responsible for evaluating, repairing, and maintaining complex rehab mobility devices and custom seating solutions. Daily tasks include diagnosing equipment issues, assembling and modifying devices, providing client consultations, and ensuring quality standards in all repairs. The role also involves assisting clients with product education and proper usage of their mobility devices, maintaining detailed service records, and collaborating with other team members to deliver exceptional customer care.
The Wheelchair Seating and Assembly Technician is responsible for the accurate assembly, adjustment, and preparation of manual and power wheelchairs, seating systems, and related mobility equipment. This role ensures that all equipment is built to manufacturer specifications, meets clinical and safety standards, and is ready for delivery to patients. The technician works closely with ATPs, clinicians, and operations staff to support timely, high-quality equipment delivery and service.
- Proficiency in mechanical repair, assembly, and maintenance of mobility devices and equipment
- Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills, with the ability to assess and address technical issues
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to provide outstanding customer service and education
- Attention to detail and organizational skills for maintaining accurate service documentation
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team and adapt to diverse customer needs
- Familiarity with complex rehab mobility and seating is a plus
- Knowledge in assistive technology or medical equipment repair is beneficial
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally as required
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications are a plus
- Experience in DME, complex rehab, or medical equipment assembly
- Familiarity with wheelchair manufacturers (Permobil, Quantum, Ki Mobility, Sunrise, etc.)
- Basic knowledge of power wheelchair electronics and programming
- Previous healthcare or patient-focused environment experience
