Job SummaryWe are building a Private-Party Acquisition (PPA) Buy Center to purchase quality vehicles directly from local sellers. As a PPA Buyer, you will find, contact, appraise, and buy vehicles from private owners—fueling the inventory that powers our stores. No prior experience as a buyer or in the car business is required. We will train the right candidate.
Responsibilities- Source and contact sellers every day from Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist, local classifieds, referrals, and inbound leads.
- Qualify and schedule appraisals (in-store or on-site); confirm title/payoff details; stack appointments efficiently.
- Appraise and negotiate using quick condition checks and data-based offers; handle objections professionally and ethically.
- Close and hand off purchased vehicles with accurate paperwork; coordinate titles, bills of sale, payoffs, and intake to our internal process.
- Own your pipeline in the CRM: log calls, messages, follow-ups, offers, appointments, and results with organized notes and next steps.
- Protect the brand: communicate clearly, show up on time, and treat every seller with respect.
- Critical thinking: analyze situations fast and make practical decisions.
- Resilience: not letting frequent ‘no’ stop progress; turn "not now" into "next appointment."
- Street smarts: perceptive, situational awareness, comfortable meeting people where they are.
- Fast learner & teachable: take feedback, ask questions, and apply new skills quickly (no prior auto experience required).
- Organized operator: thrive in a high-activity pipeline and keep clean, complete CRM notes.
- Professional communicator: clear, respectful phone/text/email presence.
- Strong verbal and written communication.
- Time management and follow-up discipline in a fast-paced day.
- Comfortable with basic computer tools and CRM (we train on our systems).
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Ability to travel locally for on-site appraisals as needed.
- Nice to have:
Sales, BDC, canvassing, collections, dispatching, real estate or other field acquisition work (not required).
