Community Counseling Center is looking for a Floating Youth Day Treatment Specialist for our Cape Girardeau, Jackson, and Perryville YDT programs. This position works closely with our youth population that suffers from mental and behavioral health issues which impacts their day‑to‑day activities. This position would be responsible for floating between the various programs as needed. Mileage reimbursement is given, and the employee's "home base" would be dependent upon their location.

The

Program

The Youth Day Treatment program provides services to youth in grades K-12 who require a step‑down or an alternative to inpatient care or partial hospitalization, or as transitional care following an inpatient or partial hospitalization stay in order to facilitate return to the community or to prevent or minimize the need for more intense or restrictive level of treatment. The Day Treatment Program provides services that are more intensive than outpatient treatment and will serve persons who need a structured, behavioral health setting for daytime activities.

The

Job

As a YDT Specialist, you would be responsible for providing interventions to children in the Day Treatment Program for the purpose of helping children remain in the school, community and in the home. You would be working with the children on teaching skills such as: communication, de‑escalation, behaviors, coping techniques, and many more. It is important to note that we do see various escalations through this program, however, it is an extremely rewarding experience to see the clients meet their treatment goals, and transition out of the Youth Day Treatment program, and back into the regular school settings.
