Wound Care Nurse; RN

As a Registered Nurse in our Wound Care department, you will play a vital role in maintaining professional accountability and ensuring the highest standards of care.

Location: Mercy Hospital Southeast, Cape Girardeau, MO

Department: Wound Care and Diabetic - Nursing Excellence

Status: Full-Time - 40 hours/week

Shift: Days

• Utilize the nursing process to deliver high-quality patient care.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of care provided by other caregivers.
• Coordinate patient care with various departments.
• Uphold patient rights and maintain confidentiality.
• Perform duties in alignment with Mercy's mission, values, and service standards.

• Experience: Minimum of 2 years as a Registered Nurse; previous wound care experience is preferred.
• Education: Graduate from an accredited nursing program (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN).
• Licensure: Must obtain and maintain a current RN license in the hiring state or compact licensure.
• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or completion within 30 days of hire; other unit-specific certifications as required.
• Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to push, pull, and/or lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Prolonged standing and walking required each shift.
  • Capability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat as needed.
