About the AgencyThe Mississippi Department of Human Services is dedicated to serving others while providing a wide range of public assistance programs, social services, and support for children, low-income individuals, and families. This position is with the Division of Management Information Systems and will be located in the STATE OFFICE.

Accountable for the development, enhancement, and maintenance of application systems of moderate complexity and risk/impact for assigned organizational areas. May be accountable for multiple applications, application development, and support teams. Manages vendor relations for less complex applications. May serve as the liaison with other internal and external staff. May serve as project lead or provide technical direction to lower-level team members.
Responds to a rotating on-call schedule to investigate and resolve after-hour issues in a timely manner.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. The ability to work with a team and independently to complete projects at varying levels of complexity. The ability to multitask and learn new skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
Preferred QualificationsTypically requires a Bachelor’s Degree and 7-10+ years of IT experience with emphasis in applications development and support. Agency preferred qualifications:
Experience programming in Natural or programming experience in another language(s) with the ability to learn Natural.
