Journeyman Electrician

Buildforce is hiring a skilled Journeyman Electrician for a commercial remodel project at Car Max in Jackson, MS. This is a night shift opportunity for licensed electricians who are self‑reliant, experienced in conduit bending, and capable of working with minimal supervision. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in commercial installations and be open to local or travel‑based assignments.

The primary function of the Journeyman Electrician is to perform commercial electrical installations, modifications, and upgrades as part of the Car Max remodel project. This includes conduit bending, wiring, fixture installation, and ensuring all work complies with applicable codes and safety standards.

• Conduit benders (hand and hydraulic)
• Power drills, saws, and standard hand tools
• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
• Electrical conduit (EMT, rigid)
• Electrical panels and switch gear
• Lighting fixtures, receptacles, and related components
• Fasteners, anchors, and junction boxes

• Perform commercial electrical installations including conduit bending, wiring, and equipment setup
• Work independently during night shift hours with minimal supervision
• Read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics
• Maintain high standards of safety and code compliance on site
• Collaborate with foremen and project managers to meet installation schedules
• Provide own tools and ensure proper use and maintenance of equipment
• Adhere to all site‑specific and OSHA safety protocols
• Travel or local availability depending on the job assignment
