Base Salary Range
$42,400.00 per year - $50,000.00 per year
Job OverviewWe are seeking a Mechanic to perform preventive and corrective maintenance on water treatment plants and related facilities in Jackson, MS. The role requires expertise in municipal equipment, safety practices, and the ability to work on an assigned shift.
Key Responsibilities- Perform preventive maintenance on buildings, structures, and equipment.
- Conduct corrective maintenance, lubricate machinery, check for malfunctions, replace packing, bearings, and tune engines.
- Install and set up new equipment; clean, paint interior and exterior surfaces.
- Use gas or arc welding equipment for cutting, brazing, and welding; perform plumbing and pipe fitting tasks.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and assist in safety and incident reporting.
- Actively promote safety, health, and well-being of the team.
- One year of experience in maintenance of water treatment plants or equivalent.
- Valid Certified Maintenance & Reliability Technician (CMRT) certification or ability to obtain within 3 years.
- Proficiency with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
- Valid driver’s license with no major infractions.
- Forklift experience.
- Experience serving municipal utility clients.
- Safe work practices knowledge.
Physical Requirements

Appropriate safety equipment is mandatory.
