Job Summary
Repairs patient related and other hospital electronic equipment and checks operating safety of such equipment.
Duties and Responsibilities Demonstrates Competency in the Following Areas- Consults with supervisor concerning assignments and keeps supervisor informed of activities, needs and problems.
- Inspects all new medical electronics for integrity and potential hazards.
- Inspects all on-line medical electronics periodically for safety.
- Repairs medical electronics, as designated.
- Repairs electro-mechanical medical equipment using electronic test meters and associated hand tools.
- May train medical staff and employees in proper use and operation of electronic patient equipment.
- Accomplishes miscellaneous electronic repairs as designated.
- Installs point to point wiring as required.
- Performs various miscellaneous duties related to electronic equipment and appliances.
- Processes all incoming work orders effectively in a manner of proper priority.
- Receives, inventories, tests for safety and functionality, and installs new electronic equipment.
- Maintains, inspects and installs audio and video electronic equipment as required.
- Demonstrates safe work habits.
- Reports unsafe conditions as they occur to the proper individual.
- Maintains equipment records accurately and quickly in a timely manner.
- Other related duties as required.
- Appears well groomed and observes the facility dress code.
- Reports to work as scheduled; minimal absenteeism.
- Consistently completes and maintains assigned duties.
- Wears identification while on duty; uses computerized punch time system correctly.
- Two or more years of previous similar experience required.
- Knowledgeable about electricity and electrical safety required.
- Must possess technical skills and knowledge to perform duties.
- Must be able to follow direction, both oral and written, and work cooperatively with other staff members.
- Must maintain a valid Oklahoma driver’s license in good standing.
- Previous work history that demonstrates steady attendance and punctuality is required.
- Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
- Multiple mechanical repair abilities.
