Quality Assurance -OCR; Freelance in German

Overview

We are looking for Quality Assurance (QA) reviewers for post-OCR work in German. This role is a key part of our process for converting medical records from PDF image files into fully editable and translatable documents.

After a PDF has been processed through OCR and converted into a Microsoft Word document, the LQA specialist is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and quality of the resulting file. This involves comparing the Word document with the original PDF to confirm the transcription and layout have been accurately reproduced.

• Review and correct transcription errors caused by OCR.
• Ensure the layout and formatting closely match the original PDF.
• Verify that key data is accurately captured.
• Follow specific client instructions meticulously.
• Make basic formatting adjustments as needed (e.g., fixing indentations, merging/splitting table cells).
• Ensure the document is clean and properly structured for import into memo
  
  Q to support correct segmentation.

• Native-level proficiency in one of the target languages
• Strong command of English
• Familiarity with CAT tools
• In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Word and Adobe
• Strong attention to detail

• Professional background or experience as a translator
• Experience working with MemoQ
