Overview
Hematology Oncology Nurse – Located in Mississippi. Assignment Duration:
This is a 13-week contract position.
Schedule:
12-hour night shifts, 7 PM to 7 AM. Travelers are expected to fill scheduling gaps, with the possibility of accommodating block scheduling.
The Hematology Oncology Nurse will work on a 32-bed unit, providing care to patients with hematological and oncological conditions. The nurse will have the opportunity to administer chemotherapy and gain valuable experience in this specialty area.
Responsibilities- Administer chemotherapy and other medications as prescribed.
- Provide compassionate nursing care to patients with high acuity needs.
- Monitor patients on telemetry and respond to changes in condition.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Support patient and family education regarding treatments and care plans.
- Current BLS certification; ACLS certification is preferred for charge RNs.
- Experience in a Level 1 trauma center is required.
- Must have experience with high acuity patients, including familiarity with lines, chest tubes, and chemotherapy administration.
- EPIC charting proficiency is required.
