Coordinates and delivers patient care using the health care team philosophy practice model. Coordinates and provides patient teaching and discharge planning. Coordinates activities with ancillary departments. Maintains department and hospital standards.

• Plan, organize, and direct nursing functions for patients on the unit.
• Initiate and implement patient care plans.
• Assign nursing duties based on skill levels.
• Maintain acceptable standards of patient care.
• Identify problems and guide personnel to solutions.
• Create a working climate that provides growth and job satisfaction.
• Accurately and promptly implement physicians' orders.
• Administer medications and intravenous solutions correctly.
• Maintain accurate record‑keeping.
• Arrange for necessary supplies and equipment.
• Participate in unit and department performance improvement plans.
• Assist in reviewing and revising policies and procedures.
• Respect patients' privacy.
• Display concern and initiative.
• Observe and support hospital policy.
• Be prompt and efficient with minimal absences.
• Cooperate and maintain rapport with nursing staff, medical staff, other departments, and visitors.
• Be resourceful and calm in emergencies.
• Support infection‑control policies and procedures.
• Assist with orientation and in‑service training for personnel.

• Prolonged periods of standing, walking, or sitting.
• Lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 50 pounds.
• Transferring and repositioning patients.
• Reaching, stooping, bending, and crouching.
• Visual and auditory acuity and manual dexterity required.
• Ability to perform effectively in a stressful, fast‑paced environment.
• Ability to pass all required health and screening tests.
• Exposure to blood or other body fluids; universal precautions required.

• Experience:
  
  One year of RN experience.
• Education:
  
  Graduate of an accredited nursing school.
• Licensure:
  Current Mississippi State RN license and Current BLS Certification.
• Skills:
  
  Ability to recognize individual patient needs based on medical condition, age, and limitations; strong oral and written communication; CPR; willingness to rotate shifts, days off, and work overtime.
