Children's Shift Supervisor Nursing
- General Pediatrics - 4C role at University of Mississippi Medical Center

- Directs the daily operation of assigned areas or units, including but not limited to adherence to nursing standards of practice and administrative initiatives.
- Manages and organizes the nursing schedule for the assigned areas or units in accordance with approved productivity standards.
- Assists with training and mentoring new personnel.
- Supervises nursing staff on assigned units.
- Contributes to or performs evaluations of nursing staff.
- Serves on at least one nursing council, hospital or medical center committee, task force, or project team to improve patient care or work area. Demonstrates core standards of exceptional customer service.

Licensed as RN for two (2) years. Two years of RN experience in specified area preferred. BSN preferred.
Certifications, Licenses or Registration RequiredValid RN license.
Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesKnowledge of nursing procedures. Verbal and written communication skills. Interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, physicians, and registered nurses. Knowledge and understanding of computer systems, tools, and programs. Supervisory skills. Possesses current competencies in nursing clinical practice.
Physical and Environmental DemandsRequires occasional exposure to unpleasant or disagreeable physical environment such as high noise level and exposure to heat and cold, occasional handling or working with potentially dangerous equipment, occasional exposure to biohazardous conditions such as risk of radiation exposure, blood borne pathogens, fumes or airborne particles, and/or toxic or caustic chemicals which mandate attention to safety considerations, occasional working hours significantly beyond regularly scheduled hours, occasional travelling to offsite locations, occasional activities subject to significant volume changes of a seasonal/clinical nature, frequent work produced subject to precise measures of quantity and quality, occasional bending, occasional lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds, occasional climbing, occasional crawling, occasional crouching/stooping, occasional driving, occasional kneeling, occasional pushing/pulling, occasional reaching, frequent sitting, frequent standing, occasional twisting, and frequent walking.
