Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

Mississippi Urology Clinic – Jackson, MS has an immediate opening for a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join their team! This clinician is responsible for working with other healthcare professionals to help treat patients with various injuries, illnesses or disabilities. Their duties include communicating with Doctors, other Registered Nurses and clinical staff about patient needs, administering IVs and medications to aid their patients’ health and using medical equipment to monitor patients’ vital signs in the clinical setting.

The duties of an RN / LPN may vary depending on the work environment, but generally include:

• Observe and record patient behavior
• Perform physical examinations and diagnostic tests
• Counsel and educate patients and their families on treatment plans
• Administer medication, change wound dressings and care for other treatment options
• Read and interpret patient information, making treatment decisions when appropriate
• Consult with supervisors and doctors to decide on the best treatment plan for patients
• Direct and supervise nurses, nurse assistants and nurse aides
• Research ways to improve healthcare processes and improve patient outcomes

Educational requirements:

• Completion of an approved registered nursing program with a current valid RN license in the state of practice; or completion of an approved Licensed Practical Nursing program from vocational or other technical school with a current valid LPN license in the state of practice.
• Current CPR Certification
• Minimum of one year of nursing experience in a clinical setting preferred.
