The Mississippi Library Commission is seeking a creative, tech-savvy, and highly motivated Social Media Coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing social media strategies to enhance our online presence, engage with our community, and promote the Commission’s services as well as assisting Mississippi public libraries with their promotional and marketing needs. This role requires a passionate individual who can effectively communicate the value of libraries and foster a vibrant online community.

Successful Candidate is a team player, has a good attitude, is willing to learn and grow, and has an attention to detail. Strong writing, editing, and content creation skills, including graphics and short‑form video. Proficiency in graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, Video editing software, etc.). Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Knowledge of library services and a passion for promoting literacy and community engagement is a plus.

Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree. Hiring agency's preferred qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field, or equivalent work experience. May require a valid Mississippi driver’s license. Experience managing social media platforms for a brand or organization.
