Statement ofJob Responsibilities
The Workers’ Compensation Claim Representative is responsible for conducting a prompt and thorough investigation as necessary to determine compensability of assigned claims in conjunction with MMSC's Claim Service Standards.
The Claims Representative is engaged in all phases of the claim including, but not limited to:
- Reviewing and analyzing medical bills to confirm charges and treatment are workers’ comp injury-related and in accordance with the treatment plan
- Ensuring payments for medical bills and lost wages are remitted on a timely basis in accordance with applicable fee schedules and statute
- Answer questions regarding the status of pending claims from claimants, members and medical providers
- Consult with attorneys regarding litigation management, settlement strategy and claim resolution
- Under technical direction, works within significant limits and authority to actively manage a caseload of complex lost time cases Mississippi
- Makes prompt contact with members, claimants, medical providers, and other parties involved in the loss to set expectations, develop an action plan and perform an initial reserve assessment
- Conducts investigation to determine coverage, liability, and damages, including recorded statements
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent amount of experience in Mississippi Workers' Compensation adjustment.
Proficient knowledge of Mississippi workers’ compensation law.
- Mississippi Adjuster License is preferred.
