About the Agency:
The Attorney General's Office is the chief legal officer and advisor for the State of Mississippi on both civil and criminal matters. Her responsibility is to represent public officials and government agencies and to issue legal opinions that interpret State law. The Attorney General has the sole power under Mississippi law to bring or defend a lawsuit on behalf of the State.
She acts as counsel to State agencies and defends them or brings suit on their behalf. Most importantly, the Office is charged with the representation of the people of the State of Mississippi.
This is a Non-State Service (X-16) Position Remote work is not available for this work opportunity.
The position is accountable for oversight of the technical, physical, and administrative security of information systems in assigned functional areas. Oversees the development and deployment of security technology and processes in designated functional area. Ensures data is safe from alteration and erasure. Manages the workload and deliverables for assigned resources. Frequent liaison with Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) to ensure work is performed in accordance with enterprise security standards.
Oversees training of employees in data security. Provides complex technical support in relevant field of discipline. May serve as project lead or provide supervision and technical direction to lower-level team members. Mentors less experienced staff.
What you'll need to be Successful:
Exceptional interpersonal and oral communication skills; leadership experience with the ability to solve problems quickly; strong decision-making skills and the capacity to multitask; and extensive knowledge of systems security and compliance.
Preferred Qualifications:
Typically requires a bachelor's degree and 7-10+ years of IT experience with emphasis in security and compliance.
