Job Summary:
To manage and administer Ancillary Services that support the Operating Rooms Supply Management Systems, ensuring the effective delivery of Peri-Operative Services. To oversee the OR Central Supply Program and supervise staff across all assigned operating rooms and special areas.
Education and Experience
Required:
Degree (Associate’s or Bachelor’s) and three (3) years of experience in surgical support services, healthcare supply chain, or materials management including one (1) year of leadership experience.

- Knowledge of supplies, equipment, and services ordering and inventory control.
- Knowledge of asepsis techniques.
- Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Effective interpersonal skills to interact with staff, subordinates, and management.
- Ability to train, supervise, and support employees.
- Oversee daily management of supply chain inventory operations in the operating rooms at UMMC, including supply distribution and replenishment, case cart preparation, special order coordination, receiving and delivery, inventory control, and coordinated supply support for Peri-Operative areas.
- Supervise personnel, including work allocation, scheduling, training, performance support, and problem resolution.
- Develop and implement systems to ensure the proper, efficient, and economical use and maintenance of equipment, supplies, and facilities.
- Determine, monitor, and maintain appropriate inventory levels of supplies and equipment.
- Conduct inventory and inspection of equipment and supplies; maintain accurate records and databases; coordinate delivery and retrieval of equipment and supplies throughout the facility.
- Provide training and coaching to subordinate staff to ensure job competency, safety, and compliance with established standards.
- Ensure assigned areas and personnel comply with Joint Commission standards and all applicable regulatory requirements.
- Purchase, receive, stock, and distribute materials; track supply and equipment usage; support cost-control initiatives.
- Ensure adherence to policies and regulations related to processing, preparation, sterilization, decontamination, and distribution.
- Participate in departmental safety meetings and required medical testing to support workplace safety and health compliance.

Requires frequent handling or working with potentially dangerous equipment, frequent exposure to biohazardous conditions such as risk of radiation exposure, blood borne pathogens, fumes or airborne particles, and/or toxic or caustic chemicals. Includes occasional lifting of more than 100 pounds, occasional climbing, crawling, crouching, driving, kneeling, pushing/pulling, reaching, sitting, standing, twisting, and walking.
