Respiratory Therapist - CRT/RRT
Ideal candidates are responsible for monitoring and treating patients with temporary or chronic respiratory conditions like asthma, COPD, pneumonia, bronchitis or emphysema. Their duties include interviewing patients and completing diagnostic tests to determine their respiratory conditions, communicating with Physicians and Nurses to develop patient treatment plans and administering respiratory treatments to patients based on their conditions. The RT will operate medical devices, monitor patient responses, and provide emergency care when needed.
RTs work closely with healthcare teams to manage respiratory conditions, improve lung function, and enhance patient well-being. They also educate patients about respiratory health and disease prevention.

Description for Internal Candidates
Respiratory Therapist - CRT/RRT
Ideal candidates are responsible for monitoring and treating patients with temporary or chronic respiratory conditions like asthma, COPD, pneumonia, bronchitis or emphysema. Their duties include interviewing patients and completing diagnostic tests to determine their respiratory conditions, communicating with Physicians and Nurses to develop patient treatment plans and administering respiratory treatments to patients based on their conditions. The RT will operate medical devices, monitor patient responses, and provide emergency care when needed.
RTs work closely with healthcare teams to manage respiratory conditions, improve lung function, and enhance patient well-being. They also educate patients about respiratory health and disease prevention.
RT Float Pool 2
This Program Option Includes The Following Criteria
- Requires a minimum of 2- year respiratory care experience
- Participant works a minimum of 72 hours bi-weekly, which may include weekend coverage, as needed or required.
- For purposes of RT Float Pool program, a “weekend” is defined as beginning 3 p.m. on Friday and ending at 7 a.m. on Monday.
- Participants in this program float to where the needs are based upon the participant’s demonstrated competencies.
- Participant is scheduled according to census and staffing needs and may be required to work both day and night shift.
- Participant is expected to adhere to all provisions of the Baptist Attendance Standards Policy when requesting and scheduling time off.
- Participant understands and agrees that he/she must work a minimum of 36 hours of special staffing time annually. Special staffing days are designated by management from the list below:
- New Year’s Eve **
- Labor Day
- New Year’s Day **
- July 4th
- Good Friday
- Thanksgiving Day
- Easter Sunday
- Christmas Eve **
- Mother’s Day
- Christmas Day **
- Father’s Day
- Memorial Day
- Designated “special staffing days” begin at 7a.m. on the special day and ends at 7 a.m. the next day. The special staffing days bolded and denoted with asterisks are treated differently for staffing/scheduling purposes. Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve begin at 3 p.m. and end at 7 a.m. the following morning. For those employees scheduled to work on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day, the day begins at 7 a.m. and ends at 11 p.m. that evening.
- Participant is eligible for all applicable differentials.
- Participant is not eligible for preceptor or certification awards.
- Participant receives an annual performance review without merit increase.
